Coached Swim

Coached Swim through Tri Fitness is for everyone … from beginner to Ironman.

Our accomplished coaches will work with you to define your goals, whether you are just jumping in for the first time or you plan on swimming across the English Channel.

Our swim sessions cover it all:

  • Drills (to improve technique)
  • Skill sets
  • Speed sets
  • Endurance sets

Every session is designed to improve your form and efficiency.  You''ll leave a better swimmer than when you entered!

Plus, get motivated by swimming with other like-minded athletes.


Monday:  No classes

Tuesday:  6:00am

Wednesday:  12:00pm

Thursday:  6:30pm (This is a Tri Club swim session)

Friday:  No classes

Saturday:  6:30am

Unless otherwise noted, the swims are held at Xperience Fitness in Vadnais Heights (map).

Some of my favorites:  Accomplishing a major goal is amazingly rewarding; however, the process involved to achieve the goal is truly the most rewarding part of the challenge.  Reflection upon the path to each goal is my favorite part of being an athlete and coach. 

Fitness Background:  Competitive athlete since kindergarten, began two a days in first grade!   Athletic experiences range from Jr. PGA Golf, State Tournament Hockey, United States Hockey League (USHL), NCAA Swimming & Cross Country, to the International Triathlon Union World Championships.

Post Collegiate competitive experiences focused primarily on Triathlon: USAT National Team Member, USAT All-American, ITU World Championships, and Overall Wins at races including the Carlsbad Triathlon, Solana Beach Triathlon, Imperial Beach Triathlon, The L.A. Triathlon Series and over 30 top three overall finishes.

Coaching experience has ranged from the Team in Training Head Coach for the Joints in Motion/Children’s Arthritis Foundation (San Diego, CA), Squirt and PeeWee Hockey Coaching, the Special Olympics, Masters Swimming, Running, Cycling and Triathlon Coaching.

From an early age I was fortunate to have coaches and role models that emphasized the importance of understanding and applying fundamental technique/efficiency, nutrition, strength training, flexibility, the psychological factors involved in performance, and more.  I began as a student of sport from an early age and I am still eager to learn, study, and analyze sport.   This is a passion I like to share with my clients and I get excited seeing improvement and goal attainment.

I am a NASM Certified Personal Trainer, NASM Certified Performance Enhancement Specialist, NASM Certified Corrective Exercise Specialist, & Metabolic Specialist.
